Furniture Shopping at Millenia

The Mall at Millenia is a great place to do some shopping.  This is the high-end mall here in Orlando; however, it is some of the classiest shopping in the city.  We spent the afternoon furniture shopping in Z-Gallarie, Crate & Barrel, and Pottery Barn for some furniture.  Of course I found many things that I liked by was stopped from taking pictures in the store because it is against store policy.  Check out what I did manage to get away with prior to being caught.

I found this bed in Z-Gallarie.  In the new apartment I anticipate this headboard will dominate the room; however, with minimal furniture and a floor to ceiling view of the city skyline, I think it could provide the perfect pretense to the room.  My thoughts were to use solid white bedding with stitching detail to create a clean, coordinate feeling.

This sofa and chair are white leather from Z-Gallarie and are a perfect example of what I had in mind for downtown living.  There are a few other pieces I have in mind for this living room but you'll have to wait and check that out later because we were busted by the sales associate as we took pictures.
My thought for color in the great room was inspired by a pillow from Crate & Barrel (picture to debut soon). The color pallet is neutral, earthy tones that include slate, browns, and some purple.  To bring it all together I want to utilize some furniture we located at West Elm including a glass table and some awesome dining chairs (photos coming soon).

We struck out and headed home around 6:30pm in order to make our Trick-or-Treat appointment at 7:00pm with Marcelo's niece.  Marcelo tried to snap a few shots of the skyline tonight.  Check them out:

An interesting word

So tonight, in my adventures surfing through Internet pages, I found this quote that simply warmed my heart and soul:

If I could reach up and hold a star for every time you've made me smile, the entire evening sky would be in the palm of my hand. - Unknown

Potential Apartment in Downtown Orlando

So the escapade of selling a home is worth it because the burden of maintaining it is released; however, the process is complex.  While we wait for the appraisal and other details to be finalized we have begun our search for a place to live.  After much, much debate we found a great place in the Waverly by Lake Eola.  I figured I would put up a few pictures to give you an idea of what we are considering.  Keep in mind it will look much better with my touch.  Let me know your thoughts!

This is a view from the apartment, facing West, of downtown Orlando.  This room is the living room/dining room with a door to the balcony to the right.

From the balcony you can see most of the downtown skyline, which is beautiful at night.  You certainly can't
beat living in the heart of Thorton Park.

From the guest room you can see the skyline and a slight overhang from the floor above.  This will make a great guest room (for you to come visit) and an office.

The master bedroom has a great view right down Pine Street and into the business district of the city.  Best of all, the sun will not rise directly into the widow every morning!

This is a 12th floor unit in a secured building.  All the amenities of the city are right outside the lobby.  Anyone interested in helping us move?

Revived and repurposed

It is about time to get back on to my blog and actually use it for something.  With my new position I realize that I am not going to utilize this blog as I had anticipated when I was in the classroom.  I hope to share my thoughts, photos, and whatever else that is going on in my daily life.  Tonight was Halloween and I spent the evening with the in-laws passing out candy to their neighborhood kids.  Then I got my butt kicked by my niece on Guitar Hero as she laughed at me for not doing as well... good times with a 3rd grader.

Now I'm going to finish my application for the Administrative Pool for Orange County Public Schools.

Let me know your thoughts!
